Privacy Policy

Poker Golf is a scorekeeping app for a side game you play with friends during a round of golf. This policy describes what the app collects, why, and how to get rid of it. It is written to match what the app actually does — not from a template.

The short version

You can play without an account. If you make one, we store your email and the name you play under. Rounds you play online are stored on our server so the other phones at your table stay in sync, and they are deleted after 30 days. We collect anonymous usage statistics to work out which parts of the app people actually use. We do not sell anything, we do not show ads, we do not track you across other apps or websites, and no data is shared with anyone outside the services listed below.

What the app collects

Nothing, until you do something that needs it

Solo and offline rounds, your profile, your handicap, your saved courses, your achievements and your past receipts all live on your phone and are never uploaded.

If you create an account

Your email address, and the display name you choose. Your password is never stored by us in a readable form — account security is handled by Supabase Auth.

If you host or join an online table

The round itself is stored on our server while it is being played — the course, the scores entered for each hole, the playing cards dealt, the running tally, and the names shown at the table. This is how the other phones at your table see the same round.

Names of people who don't use the app

If you add a playing partner by typing their name, that name is part of the round and is stored with it. Please only add people who are happy for you to do that. Those rounds are deleted after 30 days.

Usage statistics

The app records which screens you open, which features you use, and anonymous technical details (app version, iOS version, device model) so we can tell what is worth building next. Each install has a random identifier that is not linked to your device's advertising ID or to anything outside this app. If you are signed in, these records are associated with your account.

If you turn on notifications

The notification token for that device, so we can tell you when you have been dealt a card.

Your camera and photos

The app can save a receipt image to your photo library when you tap Share, and it can use the camera to read a paper scorecard. Both happen only when you ask for them. Images are processed on your phone and are never uploaded.

What we do not collect

We do not collect your location, your contacts, your health or fitness data, or your payment information. The app never processes, holds or transfers money. The buy-ins, penalties and pot shown in the app are a running tally of a bet between friends — whatever you owe each other, you settle between yourselves, outside the app. There are no in-app purchases and no payment provider is involved.

How long we keep it

• Online round snapshots: 30 days, then deleted automatically.
• Usage statistics: 90 days, then deleted automatically.
• Your account: until you delete it.
• Anything on your phone: until you delete the app.

Deleting your data

Open Settings inside the app and tap Delete my account. This permanently deletes your account, your email, your notification tokens, and the rounds you hosted. In rounds you merely played in, your name is replaced with "Former player" so the round still works for everyone else. This cannot be undone.

Deleting the app from your phone removes everything stored locally, including your profile, achievements and past receipts.

If you would like a copy of your data, or you believe a round contains your name and you do not use the app, email the address at the bottom of this page and we will remove it.

Who we share it with

Nobody, in the sense of selling or trading data. The app relies on these service providers to work:

• Supabase — hosts the database, accounts and server functions.
• Apple Push Notification service — delivers notifications, if you turn them on.
• GolfCourseAPI — looks up course scorecards. Your search text is sent to them; nothing about you or your account is.

Children

Poker Golf is not directed at children and we do not knowingly collect data from anyone under 13. If you believe a child has created an account, email us and we will delete it.

Your rights

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, export or delete the personal data we hold about you, and to object to how we use it. The Delete my account button covers most of this immediately. For anything else, email us and we will respond within 30 days.

Changes

If this policy changes in a way that affects what we collect, the app will tell you about it rather than quietly updating this page.
